Getting the application
Windows
You should have received a ZIP archive called NDSim_v1.zip. Extract the contents to your local computer.

You may place the NDSim application anywhere on your computer where you have write access, such as your Desktop or Documents folder.
First Launch
Windows
Enter the NDSim_v1 folder that you have already extracted from the ZIP archive. Go into the bin sub-directory and run NDSim.exe.
The first time you launch NDSim you will be presented with the End-User License Agreement (EULA). Accepting the EULA is required to use the software, and you only need to accept the EULA once on your computer. If you copy NDSim to a different computer you will need to accept the EULA on the new computer.

Note that use on multiple computers is subject to the terms of both the EULA and your subscription license.

NDSim license agreement dialog
After accepting the EULA you will need to provide your subscription license. This is a plain-text file and may have either been provided with the ZIP archive or through an independent process. This file contains the information required to allow use of NDSim. To load the license:
- Click Select License File to launch a file selection dialog.
- Find the subscription license text file and click Open in the file selection dialog.
- Click Validate to check the license file.
- Click OK to close the License Validation dialog box.

Providing a valid subscription license file is required to use the software, and you only need to provide the subscription license file once on your computer. If you copy NDSim to a different computer you will need to provide your subscription license file on the new computer.
When your subscription license expires you may need to provide an updated subscription license file via the License Validation dialog. Offline licenses will require this. Online licenses will pick-up updated information, including the expiration date, when NDSim is launched.
You can access the License Validation dialog at any time through the Help menu and License Info menu-item within the main NDSim window.
After providing a valid subscription license, NDSim will finish launching the main application window.

General Usage
Windows
For day-to-day usage, begin by running NDSim.exe.
The application will do internal checks that you have agreed to the EULA and possess a valid subscription license. The EULA and subscription license dialogs will not appear unless these internal checks fail, such as if you copied the application to a new computer or the subscription has expired. When the internal checks succeed, the application will launch and present the main window.
