Calculating an Incident Field

Calculating an Incident Field

Once your simulation has been completed, you will want to click on the gear icon.

Then you will want to mess with your "Max range"

This will assist you with manipulating the colormap to show the simulation data.

For example, this first image shows a simulation result with the colormap defaulting to the dataset minimum & maximum values.

After significantly reducing the "Max range" indicated above, we can now see the beam structure within the top plate.

At any point you can save the incident field data to a VTK file.  Visualization settings have no effect on the output dataset.  For more information about saving data, as well as importing previously-saved datasets, please see the article dedicated to exporting and importing datasets.
